Best Practice Conveyancing - LAW9000
Lawyers Conveyancing is one of the few elite conveyancing firms in Victoria to have become certified to LAW 9000, and one of the few law firms in the whole of Australia that have attained certification. (Of the thousands of law firms throughout Australia, less than 300 have achieved certification to LAW 9000, and no Licensed Conveyancers at all have been accredited to date.)
Law 9000 is the Legal Best Practice Certification Program launched in June 2004 by SAI-Global (Standards Australia). This highly regarded quality assurance system is based on the internationally recognized standard, ISO 9001 and incorporates a set of best-practice criteria specific to the legal profession.
In order to achieve accreditation a law firm must develop systems and processes that ensure maximum client satisfaction, and risk minimisation. A crucial element of every process is to ensure that a conflict of interests check is done before a client's matter is commenced.
The certification process involves development of specific, transparent and accountable processes over many months, and culminating in a rigorous audit conducted by external auditors.
The audit examines every aspect of the law firm's operations to ensure that they meet high quality standards. Some of the key areas audited are:

- Commitment to ensuring client satisfaction;
- Processes for delivering legal services;
- Business and risk management plans;
- Human Resource practices;
- Professional obligations of the legal industry; and
